Family Fit Quiz

The Family Fit Quiz helps a family decide which S’moresUp tools fit the way the household actually manages chores.

It is not a parenting score.

Until an interactive quiz is confirmed, use this page as a practical self-check.

Quick Check

Answer yes or no:

  1. Do we repeat the same chore reminders most days?
  2. Do shared chores create “Whose turn is it?” arguments?
  3. Do children mark chores complete before the finish line is met?
  4. Do rewards still matter to the children?
  5. Do we need more than one reminder for important chores?
  6. Do flexible custom schedules save us time?
  7. Do multi-step chores need clearer instructions?
  8. Do reward requests or limits need parent control?

The goal is not to collect the most Premium features.

The goal is to identify the one or two tools that solve real family problems.

Repeated Reminders

Start with:

  • A clearer due time
  • One reminder close to the action
  • A shorter chore name
  • A smaller responsibility
  • A daily time for the child to check Today’s Progress

Free includes one reminder per chore.

Premium supports multiple reminders.

Use more than one only when each reminder has a different purpose.

Shared Chores Feel Unfair

Choose the chore type that matches the rule:

  • Individual for one owner
  • As Needed for unpredictable work
  • Rotate for taking turns
  • Collaborate for shared work
  • Compete for a safe friendly challenge
  • Bonus for optional extra earning

Individual and As Needed are Free.

Rotate, Collaborate, Compete, and Bonus are Premium.

Use Weekly View to review the full workload, not only the chore count.

Chores Are Marked Complete Too Early

Try:

  • A clearer finish line
  • Short instructions
  • A S’mart List
  • Parent Approval
  • Photo Proof

S’mart Lists, Approval, and Photo Proof are Premium-only.

Do not add all of them to every chore.

Rewards Are Not Working

Ask:

  • Are the rewards still wanted?
  • Are costs reachable?
  • Are approved rewards being honored?
  • Does every family contribution earn S’mores?
  • Is one child earning much faster?
  • Does the family need Reward Approval?
  • Should the reward appear only on selected days?
  • Would Auto Refill help manage a limited reward?

On Free, new S’mores earnings go into Spend.

Scheduling Is the Problem

Standard schedules support common patterns such as:

  • Once
  • Daily
  • Selected days
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Quarterly
  • Yearly

Premium custom schedules support X times per period.

Use a custom schedule when the frequency matters more than fixed days.

Deadlines Are the Problem

Premium offers:

  • Lock
  • Late Penalty

Use Lock when late completion no longer solves the problem.

Use Late Penalty when the work still helps but should earn fewer S’mores.

If the child is unavailable for an ongoing period, use Away instead of a deadline control.

The Setup Feels Too Complicated

Try removing:

  • One reminder
  • One unused chore
  • One Approval requirement
  • One unwanted reward
  • One complex chore type
  • One long S’mart List

A simpler setup can be more effective.

Free May Fit When

  • Individual and As Needed cover most chores
  • One reminder is enough
  • Standard schedules fit
  • New earnings going into Spend is acceptable
  • Approval and Photo Proof are not needed
  • The family wants the core Calendar, Campfire, Community, and reward system

Premium May Fit When

  • Rotate or Collaborate are used weekly
  • Approval or Photo Proof prevents disagreement
  • Lock or Late Penalty supports real deadlines
  • Multiple reminders reduce parent follow-up
  • Custom schedules fit real family timing
  • S’mart Lists support multi-step work
  • Advanced reward controls are actively used
  • Turn off Community matters
