S’moresUp Free includes the core tools a family needs to assign chores, use S’mores, manage a Wallet, plan with Calendar, post in Campfire, and take part in Community.
Premium adds more control when a normal chore, reminder, or reward needs extra structure.
Start with the problem. Then choose the Premium control that solves it.
Premium does not mean turning on every setting.
What Stays Available in Free
S’moresUp Free includes:
- Individual chores
- As Needed chores

- Standard schedules
- S’mores and the Reward Shelf
- Wallet
- Spend, Save, and Goal
- Automatic percentage allocation
- Google Calendar sync

A subscription may help S’moresUp continue offering an ad-free experience, but “no ads” should not be described as an exclusive Premium feature.
Premium Chore Types
Premium adds:
- Rotate
- Collaborate
- Compete
- Bonus chores
Rotate
Use Rotate when selected family members should take turns.
Collaborate
Use Collaborate when several people work together and split the total S’mores value.
Compete
Use Compete when the first valid completer should earn the full value.
Bonus chore
Use Bonus when the work is optional extra earning.
As Needed remains available in Free.
Premium Completion Controls
Premium adds:
- Parent Approval
- Photo Proof
- Lock
- Late Penalty
Parent Approval holds the chore for adult review before S’mores are awarded.
Photo Proof asks the child to attach a picture during completion.
Lock applies when late completion no longer solves the problem.
Late Penalty keeps the chore available after the deadline but awards fewer S’mores.
Premium Reminder and Schedule Controls
Free includes one reminder per chore.
Premium adds multiple reminders.
Premium also adds custom schedules such as:
- X times per day
- X times per week
- X times per month
- X times per quarter
- X times per year
Standard Once, Daily, selected-day, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly schedules should not be described as Premium-only.
Premium S’mart Lists
S’mart Lists are live and Premium-only.
A S’mart List breaks one broad chore into clear steps.
Example:
Pack the school bag
- Add homework folder
- Add lunchbox
- Add water bottle
- Put the bag by the door
Use a S’mart List when one chore needs several actions and the finish line is not obvious.
Premium Reward Controls
Premium adds several reward controls.
Reward Approval
The parent approves the reward request before S’mores are deducted.
Available only on certain days
The reward is visible to children only on selected weekdays.
This control does not support time-of-day windows.
Auto Refill Rewards
A limited reward count can restock weekly or monthly to a preset number.
Reward Count sets how many claims are available. Expires By can add an optional end date.
The exact plan access for Reward Count and Expires By should be confirmed before those two controls are labeled Premium-only. Selected-day availability and Auto Refill are confirmed Premium controls.
Premium Community Preference
Community itself is available broadly.
Premium adds the option to turn Community off.
Turning it off:
- Removes the Community tab
- Stops Community notifications
- Keeps family Campfire available
- Can be reversed later
There are no other confirmed Premium-only Campfire or Community controls.
Features That Are Not Premium-Only
Do not list these as Premium benefits:
- Wallet
- Automatic Spend, Save, and Goal allocation
- Google Calendar sync
- Smart appliance integrations
- Community access
- Unlimited family members
- Unlimited chores
- No ads
Smart appliance integrations are live and available to new families without a Premium gate.
Outdated or Unimplemented Items
Do not document these as current Premium features:
- Mini-Me mode
- Assigning chores to parents as a special feature
- Smart nudges
- Pattern-based automation
- Exclusive offers
These references may still appear in older code or marketing strings, but they do not represent the current product.
When Premium May Help
Premium may help when:
- Shared chores create “Whose turn is it?”
- Larger projects need teamwork
- Optional extra work would help
- A parent needs to review the result
- A picture makes the finish line clearer
- A real deadline matters
- One reminder is not enough
- Fixed days do not fit the chore frequency
- A multi-step chore is confusing
- Reward requests need more control
