How the First 45 Days Work

New S’moresUp families receive 45 days of introductory Premium access.

This gives the family time to try Premium controls while setting up real chores, reminders, rewards, and family habits.

The first 45 days are not a normal paid store trial.

No Payment Information Is Required

At the start of the first 45 days:

  • No payment details are required
  • No paid subscription begins automatically
  • The family can use introductory Premium access
  • Paid billing starts only after an adult completes a purchase

The family should not be charged only because the 45-day period began.

What the Family Can Try

During introductory access, the family can try Premium features such as:

  • Rotate
  • Collaborate
  • Compete
  • Bonus chores
  • Parent Approval
  • Photo Proof
  • Lock
  • Late Penalty
  • Multiple reminders
  • Custom schedules
  • S’mart Lists
  • Reward Approval
  • Advanced reward availability controls

Use only the controls that solve a real family problem.

Extension Opportunities

Eligible families may be offered an extension of introductory access.

Current product direction allows up to three extensions.

The exact extension length, timing, and eligibility should be verified in the current app.

An extension is not the same as a paid renewal.

Email and In-App Notices

As introductory access approaches its end, the family may receive:

  • Email reminders
  • In-app messages
  • A plan decision screen
  • An extension option, when eligible

Review the dates shown in the message.

Choose Free or Premium

After the available introductory period and extensions, the family chooses:

  • Continue with S’moresUp Free
  • Subscribe to S’moresUp Premium

If the family chooses Free:

  • The account remains available
  • Chores remain
  • History remains
  • Wallet balances remain
  • Rewards remain
  • Calendar events remain

Premium-only controls may no longer be available or may behave differently.

Paid Billing Begins Only After Purchase

A paid subscription begins only after an adult:

  1. Chooses a Premium offer
  2. Reviews the price and billing interval
  3. Completes the purchase

After purchase, the paid subscription renews automatically until canceled.

Who Can Purchase?

Any adult who belongs to the family can purchase Premium.

One subscription unlocks Premium for the whole family.

If the Family Does Nothing

When introductory access ends, the family is shown the available choice and plan state.

The family should not be charged without completing a paid purchase.

If the app shows unexpected Premium access or billing, contact support.

Current Product Limitation

The product is still improving how Premium-created controls behave when a family moves to Free.

The Help Center should not promise that every Premium setup converts automatically to a Free equivalent.

Core family data remains preserved.
