Understanding Grandfathered Pricing

Some S’moresUp families pay an older Premium price.

This is often called a grandfathered or legacy rate.

The current rule is:

An eligible legacy price remains while the subscription stays continuously active.

Who May Have a Legacy Rate?

Legacy subscribers may include families paying older prices such as:

  • $4.99 per month
  • $7.99 per month

The exact rate depends on the subscription history and purchase provider.

What Keeps the Legacy Price?

The subscription must remain continuously active.

That generally means:

  • Do not cancel
  • Keep payment information current
  • Avoid a subscription gap
  • Keep the original billing relationship active

Using a different device does not by itself change family Premium access.

What Removes the Legacy Price?

The legacy rate is lost when the subscription:

  • Is canceled
  • Ends
  • Has a gap
  • Is restarted later

A later subscription uses the current available price.

Canceling and Resubscribing

Canceling stops future renewal.

Premium remains available through the paid period.

When that period ends, the legacy price ends too.

If the family subscribes again later, the current price applies.

Failed Payments

S’moresUp does not currently have a separate failed-payment recovery program or billing grace period.

The store or payment provider may use its own retry rules.

Because recovery behavior is not guaranteed, keep payment information current.

A failed payment could create a subscription gap and affect the legacy rate.

Changing Devices

Changing from one phone or tablet to another should not affect family Premium access when the family signs in to the same S’moresUp account.

The billing subscription remains with the original provider.

Switching Between Apple and Google

Using Premium across Apple and Android devices is supported at the family level.

Moving the billing subscription itself from Apple to Google may require:

  1. Ending the original subscription
  2. Starting a new subscription with the other provider

That can create a gap and may remove the legacy price.

Do not cancel the original subscription until the billing impact is understood.

Switching to Website Billing

The same caution applies when moving from an app store to website billing.

Family access and billing-provider management are different.

A new website subscription may use the current website price.

App Updates

Updating S’moresUp does not normally remove a continuously active legacy rate.

The rate is connected to the subscription, not the app version.

Account and Family Changes

Do not delete the family or account while a subscription remains active.

Deleting does not automatically cancel billing and may make account recovery harder.

Contact support before major account changes when a legacy subscription is involved.

Pricing Is Not a Lifetime Guarantee

The Terms of Use allow paid-service prices and terms to change with notice.

The grandfathered-price rule is the current S’moresUp policy for eligible continuously active subscriptions.

It should not be described as a permanent lifetime contract.

How to Check Your Price

Review:

  • Apple subscription details
  • Google Play subscription details
  • Website billing page
  • Renewal email
  • Purchase receipt

The provider’s current renewal amount is the best record.
