How Community Works

Community is the parent-only social space inside S’moresUp.

It gives parents a place to:

  • Read ideas
  • Ask questions
  • Share experiences
  • Comment
  • React
  • Share photos
  • Learn from other families

Children cannot access Community.

Community Is Separate from Campfire

Campfire is for the household.

Community is for parent conversations beyond the household.

What Parents Can Do

Parents can:

  • View Community posts
  • Create posts
  • Comment
  • React
  • Share photos
  • Report posts
  • Block users
  • Delete their own posts
  • Share a Community post into family Campfire

Exact media and reaction controls should be verified.

Admin Review Before Publication

Every Community post created by a parent is reviewed by admins before it is published.

This includes photo posts.

The flow is:

  1. Parent creates the post.
  2. Parent submits it.
  3. Admins review it.
  4. The post is approved or handled based on moderation.
  5. Approved content appears in Community.

The post may not appear immediately.

Do not submit it several times only because it is still waiting.

Separate Community Profile

Community uses a separate profile.

A parent can set:

  • Community name
  • Community image

Community does not show:

  • Family name
  • Child names
  • Child information
  • Location

Choose a name and image appropriate for the wider parent audience.

Posting in Community

Good Community topics include:

  • Reward ideas
  • Chore questions
  • Family-management tips
  • App-use questions
  • Wins other parents may learn from
  • General parent discussion

Avoid posting:

  • Child names
  • School information
  • Addresses
  • Medical details
  • Private family conflict
  • Photos identifying children without careful consent
  • Information that does not belong in a public parent space

Comments and Reactions

Parents can comment and react to Community posts.

Children cannot.

Comments cannot currently be reported through the confirmed controls.

Use Block when another user should no longer interact with or appear to the parent based on current behavior.

Exact Community reaction options should be verified instead of assuming the family Heart reaction applies.

Sharing a Community Post with Family

A parent can share a Community post into the family Campfire.

This can bring home:

  • A reward idea
  • A useful family tip
  • A question to discuss
  • A helpful photo post

Sharing does not work in the other direction.

A Campfire family post cannot be cross-posted into Community.

Delete Your Own Community Post

The creator can delete their own Community post.

Other parents cannot delete it.

They can report the post.

Before deleting, remember that the post’s Community conversation may also be affected. Exact comment behavior should be verified.

Community Is Optional

Parents do not have to use Community.

Premium families can turn it off.

Turning it off:

  • Removes the Community tab
  • Stops Community notifications
  • Keeps family Campfire available
  • Can be reversed later
