How Task Completion Works

Completion rules tell the app what should happen when a task is marked complete. They help families decide whether a task is instantly done, needs approval, needs proof, or should trigger rewards.

Quick Start

  1. Open the task you want to review.
  2. Check whether the task can be completed directly by the assigned person.
  3. Decide if parent approval is needed.
  4. Decide if photo proof or extra detail is needed.
  5. Review whether S’mores, Family Badges or praise, or rewards should be connected.

Why this helps

Clear tasks can reduce repeated reminders and give children a better chance to follow through.

Good to know

  • Use stricter completion rules only for tasks where quality matters.
  • Simple daily habits usually work better with lighter completion rules.
  • Completion rules should make expectations clearer, not make the task feel harder.

Family Example

Pick one task where “done” is often debated. Add an approval or proof rule only to that task.

Good to Know

  • Start with the smallest version that solves the problem.
  • Change one setting at a time so you can see what helped.
  • Missed days are information, not proof that your family failed.
  • Open Help in the IAFT app and send a message if something does not work as expected.

Best First Action

Pick one task where “done” is often debated. Add an approval or proof rule only to that task.
