How to Move S’mores Between Accounts

S’mores can be moved between Spend, Save, and Goal.

This gives families flexibility after automatic allocation.

A child may decide to save more, work toward a goal faster, or make S’mores available for a reward.

Quick Start

  1. Open the family member’s Wallet.
  2. Choose the account holding the S’mores.
  3. Select the move or transfer action.
  4. Choose Spend, Save, or Goal as the destination.
  5. Enter the amount.
  6. Review the change.
  7. Confirm the Wallet transaction.

Exact buttons and labels should be verified.

Why Move S’mores?

A family member may move S’mores when:

  • A new goal becomes important
  • A reward is ready to redeem
  • The child wants to save more
  • The automatic split no longer matches the plan
  • A manual Bonus should support a goal
  • A Goal is completed or canceled
  • The child wants to prepare for Cash-Out

Moving S’mores should be a choice, not a way to hide activity.

Spend to Save

Move S’mores from Spend to Save when the child wants to protect part of the available balance.

Example:

Noah has 80 S’mores in Spend.

He moves 30 to Save so he does not use everything on a small reward.

Spend to Goal

Move S’mores from Spend to Goal when the child wants to reach a specific target faster.

Example:

Maya receives a 50-S’mores manual Bonus in Spend.

She moves 40 to Goal for a new book.

Save to Goal

Move from Save to Goal when general savings become connected to a clear target.

Example:

Ava has 200 in Save.

She creates a Goal for a class trip item and moves 150 to it.

Goal to Spend or Save

Plans change.

A Goal may no longer be useful.

Based on current product controls, the family may move the S’mores:

  • Back to Save
  • Back to Spend
  • Into another Goal

Confirm exact Goal closing and transfer behavior before publication.

Spend and Cash-Out

Cash-Out removes S’mores from the child’s account after approval.

The family may move S’mores into Spend before requesting Cash-Out, depending on the current flow.

S’moresUp records the Cash-Out. The parent pays outside the app.

Manual Bonus

Manual Bonus always enters Spend.

It can then be moved to:

  • Save
  • Goal

This makes Bonus visible first and lets the family choose what to do next.

Penalty

Penalty always removes from Spend.

Moving S’mores out of Spend should not be used to avoid a known family consequence.

Agree on the rules before children move balances freely.

Use Transfers to Teach Choice

Ask:

  • What do you want now?
  • What are you saving for?
  • How much should stay available?
  • Will moving this delay another reward?
  • Is the Goal still important?

These questions turn a Wallet action into a money-skill conversation.

Keep the Family Rule Clear

A family may decide:

  • Children can move S’mores freely
  • Parents review Goal transfers
  • Save cannot be moved back without discussion
  • Cash-Out uses only Spend
  • Goal transfers happen during a weekly check-in

The product allows movement. The family decides the rule.

Check Wallet History

After moving S’mores, confirm:

  • The source balance went down
  • The destination balance went up
  • The total is still correct
  • The transaction appears in Wallet history
  • The right family member was selected

If something looks wrong, stop before making another transfer.

Common Problems

S’mores were moved to the wrong account

Check whether the current product supports reversal. Use in-app Help when needed.

Agree on a family saving rule.

A Goal disappeared

Confirm the current Goal status and Wallet history.

Bonus went to Spend instead of Save

That is expected. Manual Bonus always enters Spend.

Penalty did not touch Save

That is expected. Penalty removes only from Spend.
