S’moresUp rewards can use several controls to manage when children see a reward and how often it can be claimed.
These controls apply to rewards.
They do not apply to:
- Chores
- Bonus chores
- Cash-Out schedules
- Chore due times
Reward Controls at a Glance
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Available only on certain days | Shows the reward only on selected weekdays |
| Reward Count | Sets how many claims are available |
| Auto Refill Rewards | Restocks the count weekly or monthly |
| Expires By | Adds an optional end date |
| Reward Approval | Requires parent approval before S’mores are deducted |
Selected-day availability, Auto Refill, and Reward Approval are confirmed Premium controls.
Confirm the exact plan access for Reward Count and Expires By before labeling those two controls Premium-only.
Available Only on Certain Days
Use this setting when a reward should appear only on selected weekdays.
Examples:
- Weekend movie
- Friday dessert choice
- Saturday game time
- Weekday homework break
The parent:
- Opens the reward’s Advanced Settings.
- Turns on Available only on certain days.
- Chooses days from Sunday through Saturday.
- Saves the reward.
- Checks the child view on an available and unavailable day.
The reward is shown to children only on the selected days.
Day-Based, Not Time-Based
The implemented control uses weekdays.
It does not provide:
- Only after 5:00 PM
- Only between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM
- Different hours on different days
Do not describe it as a day-and-time availability window.
For time-sensitive rewards, the family must manage the timing through the reward description, approval, and family conversation.
Reward Count
Reward Count controls how many times a reward can be claimed.
The count can be:
- Unlimited
- A set number
Examples:
- Three movie picks
- Five small treats
- One special outing
- Ten extra screen-time passes
A count is reward inventory.
It is not a “once per day” rate limit.
Auto Refill Rewards
Premium Auto Refill restocks the reward count:
- Weekly
- Monthly
The parent chooses the preset number to restore.
Example:
Reward: Choose Friday dessert
Count: 1
Auto Refill: Weekly to 1
After the weekly refill, one new claim becomes available.
Exact refill day, time, and behavior with unused inventory should be verified.
Expires By
Expires By adds an optional end date.
Use it for:
- Seasonal rewards
- School-break rewards
- A short family challenge
- A temporary privilege
- A limited-time family goal
The exact plan access and expiration behavior should be confirmed.
Check whether an expired reward:
- Disappears
- Becomes unavailable
- Keeps past request history
- Can be reactivated
Reward Approval
Reward Approval is Premium-only.
When Approval is on:
- The child requests the reward.
- The parent reviews the request.
- If approved, S’mores are deducted automatically.
- If rejected, S’mores are not deducted.
Approval can be set per reward and may also use a family default in Reward Settings.
Use it for:
- High-value rewards
- Screen time
- Rewards that affect the family schedule
- Rewards requiring money or parent action
Cash-Out Is Separate
Cash-Out has its own approval flow.
It can include:
- Enabled children
- Conversion rate
- Cash-Out approval
Cash-Out does not use:
- Selected reward days
- Reward Auto Refill
- Reward inventory windows
Cash-Out records what the parent will settle outside the app. It does not transfer real money.
Bonus Chores Are Separate
A Bonus chore is optional work that earns S’mores.
It does not use reward availability or reward inventory controls.
Do not confuse:
- Bonus chore
- Manual Wallet Bonus
- Reward Count
- Reward Auto Refill
They solve different problems.
Example Setup
