How S’mores Are Shared Across Advanced Task Types

Advanced tasks do not all share S’mores in the same way. The task type tells IAFT who earns the configured value. Understanding this before assigning the task helps the system feel clear and fair.

Quick Start

  1. Check the task type.
  2. Set one total S’mores value.
  3. Explain who will receive the points.
  4. Complete and approve the task when required.

Point allocation by task type

  • Individual: the assigned person gets the full value.
  • As Needed: whoever completes it gets the value for that completion.
  • Rotate: the person assigned for that occurrence gets the full value.
  • Collaborate: the total value is split among participants.
  • Compete: the first person to complete it gets the full value.
  • Bonus: the person who claims and completes it gets the full value.

Approval still applies

  • If approval is required, S’mores are not awarded until the parent approves the task.
  • If the task is rejected, no S’mores are awarded until it is completed and approved later.

Keep values easy to explain

  • Use simple values.
  • For Collaborate, choose a total that can be split in a way the family understands.
  • Tell children the rule before the task begins.

Family Example

A 60-S’more Collaborate task shared by three participants divides the task value among the participants. A 25-S’more Compete task gives the full 25 to the first person who completes it.

Good to Know

  • Start with the smallest version that solves the problem.
  • Change one setting at a time so you can see what helped.
  • Missed days are information, not proof that your family failed.
  • Open Help in the IAFT app and send a message if something does not work as expected.

Best First Action

Open one advanced task and make sure the S’mores rule is clear to everyone assigned.
