Get the Most from S’moresUp Premium

Premium is most useful when an advanced control solves a real family problem.

The family does not need to rebuild the whole chore system or turn on every setting.

Use this tune-up to:

  • Keep what helps
  • Remove what creates noise
  • Add one control where it improves follow-through

Quick Start: Ten-Minute Tune-Up

Review:

  1. Chore types
  2. Approval and Photo Proof
  3. Deadlines
  4. Reminders and schedules
  5. S’mart Lists
  6. Rewards
  7. Community preference
  8. Weekly View

Change one thing.

Review Premium Chore Types

Premium includes:

  • Rotate
  • Collaborate
  • Compete
  • Bonus chores

As Needed is part of Free and should not be listed as a Premium benefit.

Rotate

Keep it when taking turns is clearer than manual reassignment.

Collaborate

Keep it when several people truly share one result.

Compete

Keep it only when the challenge remains safe and friendly.

Bonus

Keep optional chores that children actually claim.

If a type causes confusion, change it.

Review Approval and Photo Proof

Ask:

  • Does the chore truly need review?
  • Does the picture make the finish line clearer?
  • Is the Approval queue handled promptly?
  • Is the child ready to complete independently?
  • Are rejected chores receiving specific feedback?

Remove Approval from simple chores that no longer need inspection.

Review Lock and Late Penalty

Use Lock when completing the chore late no longer helps.

Use Late Penalty when the work still matters after the due time.

Check Weekly View for repeated Late and Locked patterns.

A repeated problem may mean the due time is wrong.

Review Reminders

Free includes one reminder.

Premium supports multiple reminders.

Keep multiple reminders only when each has a different role.

Example:

  • Plan
  • Prepare
  • Final check

Remove duplicate alerts that have become background noise.

Review Custom Schedules

Premium supports custom X-times-per-period schedules.

Use them when fixed weekdays do not match the real responsibility.

Examples:

  • Practice three times per week
  • Clean backpack twice per month
  • Sort seasonal clothes once per quarter

If selected days would be simpler, use the simpler schedule.

Review S’mart Lists

S’mart Lists are Premium-only.

Ask:

  • Is the list helping?
  • Is it too long?
  • Does one step need a separate chore?
  • Can the list be shortened as the child learns?
  • Does the parent review the same finish line?

Remove steps that no longer add value.

Refresh the Reward Shelf

Review:

  • Rewards children still want
  • Costs that are too high or low
  • Rewards the family cannot provide
  • Reward Approval
  • Selected reward days
  • Reward Count
  • Auto Refill
  • Expires By

Selected-day availability uses weekdays, not hours.

Auto Refill can restock limited reward inventory weekly or monthly.

Reward Approval holds the request until a parent reviews it.

Review Wallet Behavior

Premium can support automatic allocation into:

  • Spend
  • Save
  • Goal

Make sure the child understands the percentages.

On Free, future earnings go into Spend.

Wallet balances and history should remain associated with the family when Premium ends.

Review Community Preference

Community is broadly available.

Premium adds Turn off Community.

Use it when the family wants a household-only Campfire experience.

Turning it off:

  • Removes the Community tab
  • Stops Community notifications
  • Keeps Campfire available

Community becomes visible again when Premium ends.

Do Not Count These as Premium Benefits

These are not Premium-only:

  • As Needed
  • Wallet itself
  • Google Calendar sync
  • Smart appliance integrations
  • Campfire
  • Community access
  • No third-party in-app ads at this time

Subscriptions help support S’moresUp, but “no ads” is not a Premium-only feature.

Remove Outdated Claims

Do not include:

  • Mini-Me mode
  • Assigning chores to parents as a special Premium feature
  • Smart nudges
  • Pattern-based automation
  • Exclusive offers

Use Weekly View

Review:

  • One family member
  • One category
  • One time period
  • Late
  • Locked
  • Missed
  • Approval activity

Celebrate one win and change one repeated problem.
