S’moresUp Free vs. Premium

New S’moresUp families receive 45 days of introductory Premium access.

No payment details are required to begin.

When introductory access ends, the family can continue with Free or purchase Premium.

Choose based on the tools the family actually uses.

Quick Start: Choose Based on Real Use

Ask:

  1. Do we use Rotate, Collaborate, Compete, or Bonus chores?
  2. Do Approval, Photo Proof, Lock, or Late Penalty reduce parent follow-up?
  3. Do multiple reminders or custom schedules solve a real problem?
  4. Do S’mart Lists make multi-step chores clearer?
  5. Do advanced reward controls matter to the family?

If the answer is mostly no, Free may be enough.

If several of these tools are part of the weekly system, Premium may be worth keeping.

When Free Is a Good Fit

Free may be enough when:

  • The family uses Individual and As Needed chores
  • One reminder per chore works
  • Standard schedules fit
  • The family wants simple S’mores and rewards
  • Approval and Photo Proof are not needed
  • Shared turns can be managed without advanced chore types
  • New earnings going into Spend fits the family

Free is not a failed introductory period.

It is the continuing S’moresUp plan for families that want the core system.

When Premium Is a Good Fit

Premium may help when:

  • “Whose turn is it?” happens often
  • Shared projects need Collaborate
  • Optional Bonus chores work well
  • Completion needs Approval or Photo Proof
  • A real deadline needs Lock or Late Penalty
  • One reminder is not enough
  • A flexible frequency needs a custom schedule
  • A chore needs a S’mart List
  • Reward requests and inventory need more control
  • A parent wants to hide Community

Premium should earn its place by reducing confusion or repeated parent work.

First 45 Days

The first 45 days are introductory Premium access.

They do not begin paid billing automatically.

Eligible families may receive extension options.

A paid subscription begins only after an adult completes a purchase.

Current Pricing

Monthly

  • $7.99 per month through August 29, 2026
  • $9.99 per month for new subscriptions beginning August 30, 2026

Limited annual offer

Eligible S’moresUp users may see:

  • $79.99 for one year
  • Available through August 30, 2026

The price and terms shown on the purchase screen control the transaction.

Regional prices and taxes may differ.

Legacy Prices

Eligible continuously active subscribers, including some $4.99 and $7.99 subscribers, keep their current rate under the current pricing policy.

Canceling, allowing the subscription to end, or resubscribing after a gap moves the family to the current price.

This is not an unconditional lifetime guarantee.

What Happens When Premium Ends?

The family continues on Free.

Current product behavior preserves:

  • Chores
  • History
  • Wallet balances
  • Rewards
  • Calendar events
  • Family account access

Premium-created controls do not yet consistently map to Free equivalents.

Community becomes visible again if it was turned off through Premium.

TeenSpirit

TeenSpirit may be available as separate family support for both Free and Premium families.

It is not a Premium differentiator and is not part of the S’moresUp feature comparison on this page.
