How Wallet Transactions Work

Wallet history shows how a family member’s S’mores changed.

It can help answer:

  • Where did these S’mores come from?
  • Why did the balance go down?
  • Was a reward approved?
  • Was a Cash-Out recorded?
  • Did someone send S’mores?
  • Were S’mores moved between accounts?

Wallet history is separate from the Activity Log and Weekly View.

Common Transaction Types

Wallet may record activity such as:

  • Chore earnings
  • Reward redemption
  • Cash-Out
  • Send
  • Request
  • Manual Bonus
  • Penalty
  • Movement between Spend, Save, and Goal
  • Goal activity
  • Other supported Wallet actions

Exact labels should be verified.

Chore Earnings

A chore earning may show:

  • Chore name
  • Family member
  • S’mores value
  • Date or time
  • Approval result
  • Allocation into Spend, Save, and Goal

The chore type decides who earns the S’mores.

Automatic allocation decides where the amount goes afterward.

Reward Transactions

When a reward is approved:

  • The required S’mores are deducted automatically
  • Wallet records the redemption
  • The family provides the real reward

The transaction may show the reward name and cost.

Cash-Out Transactions

Cash-Out records that:

  • The child requested allowance
  • The parent approved it
  • S’mores were removed
  • The parent will settle the payment outside the app

S’moresUp does not transfer money.

Send and Request Transactions

When one family member sends S’mores to another, Wallet should show the transfer for both people.

A request may appear as:

  • Pending
  • Completed
  • Rejected or canceled

Exact status behavior should be verified.

Bonus and Penalty

Manual Bonus:

  • Adds S’mores to Spend
  • Can later be moved to Save or Goal

Penalty:

  • Removes S’mores from Spend

These actions should be visible so the balance change has a clear record.

Moving Between Accounts

Moving S’mores between Spend, Save, and Goal does not change the family member’s total.

It changes the purpose of the S’mores.

A transaction should show:

  • Source account
  • Destination account
  • Amount
  • Date

Verify the current detail view.

Use Wallet History to Review a Question

When the balance looks wrong:

  1. Confirm the correct family member.
  2. Check recent chore earnings.
  3. Check reward approvals.
  4. Check Cash-Out.
  5. Check Send and Request.
  6. Check Bonus or Penalty.
  7. Check movements between accounts.
  8. Compare the total.

Do not add another Bonus only to make the number look right before finding the cause.

Wallet History Versus Weekly View

Use Weekly View for:

  • Chore activity
  • Current and prior week
  • Family-member filters
  • Category and time grouping

Use Wallet history for:

  • S’mores changes
  • Reward deductions
  • Cash-Out
  • Transfers
  • Account movements

They answer different questions.

Wallet History Versus Activity Log

The Activity Log may show broader family actions.

Wallet focuses on S’mores and reward activity.

Use both when a question includes a chore and a balance change.

Family Review

A short Wallet review can help children practice money skills.

Ask:

  • What did you earn?
  • What did you spend?
  • What did you save?
  • What moved to Goal?
  • Did you send S’mores?
  • What choice would you make next time?

Keep the review practical.

Common Problems

A transaction is unfamiliar

Check the family member, date, and transaction type.

A reward deduction appears twice

Confirm whether the reward was redeemed twice and contact in-app Help if needed.

The total changed after moving accounts

Moving should not change the total. Review the entries.

A Cash-Out was approved but not paid

The parent still needs to settle outside the app.

The child says S’mores disappeared

Check Penalty, reward, Cash-Out, Send, and transfers.
