S’mores, Rewards, or Wallet Activity Looks Wrong

When a balance looks wrong, start with the transaction that should have changed it.

Use:

  1. Weekly View
  2. Chore status
  3. Approval status
  4. Wallet history

These records answer different parts of the question.

A Chore Earning Is Missing

Check whether the chore is:

  • Waiting for Approval
  • Rejected
  • Late with a penalty
  • Assigned to another member
  • Collaborate with a split value
  • Compete with another winner
  • Not completed for the correct occurrence

S’mores wait until Approval when Approval is required.

Rejected chores award no S’mores.

Check the Chore Type

Individual

Full value goes to the assigned person.

Rotate

Full value goes to the person assigned for that occurrence.

Collaborate

The total is split among participants.

Compete

Full value goes to the first valid completer.

As Needed

Each valid completion earns the configured amount.

Bonus

Full value goes to the person who claims and completes it.

Free Wallet Behavior

On Free, earned S’mores go into Spend.

Automatic percentage allocation into Spend, Save, and Goal is not included in Free.

If the family expected a split after moving to Free, check the current plan.

Premium Allocation

When automatic allocation is active, the member’s earned amount can be divided by percentage into:

  • Spend
  • Save
  • Goal

The member’s earned share is calculated before Wallet allocation.

An Unexpected Deduction

Check Wallet history for:

  • Approved reward
  • Cash-Out
  • Send
  • Penalty
  • Movement between accounts

Parents cannot simply overwrite a balance.

Manual adjustments use Bonus or Penalty.

Reward Request

When Reward Approval is on:

  1. Child requests the reward.
  2. Parent approves or rejects.
  3. Approved request deducts S’mores.
  4. Rejected request does not deduct.

Check the request state before changing the reward.

Cash-Out

Cash-Out does not transfer real money.

It records that the parent will settle the value outside S’moresUp.

An approved Cash-Out removes the related S’mores from the child’s balance.

Send and Request

Family members can send S’mores or request them from another family member.

Review:

  • Sender
  • Receiver
  • Amount
  • Request status
  • Spend balance
  • Transaction history

Manual Bonus and Penalty

Bonus

Adds S’mores to Spend.

Penalty

Removes S’mores from Spend.

A manual Wallet Bonus is not the same as a Bonus chore.

Late Penalty

A late chore may still complete for fewer S’mores when Late Penalty is enabled.

Review the configured full value and reduced value.

Common Problems

Approved chore has no earning

Check Wallet history, chore value, member, and plan.

Reward deducted twice

Check duplicate requests and contact support with transaction details.

Save or Goal did not receive a percentage

Free earnings go to Spend.

Collaborate amount is smaller than expected

The total is split.

Cash-Out did not send money

Cash-Out is a record, not a money transfer.

No.

Yes.

Can parents directly type a new balance?

No. Use Bonus or Penalty.

Does Free allocate to Save and Goal automatically?

Weekly View and Wallet history.
