How to Invite Another Adult

You can invite another adult from Family Settings. This allows a partner, co-parent, grandparent, caregiver, or trusted adult to help manage tasks, rewards, approvals, and family routines.

Adding another adult can help make S’moresUp a shared system instead of one parent carrying everything alone.

Quick Start

  1. Choose one small action connected to this topic.
  2. Try it with one family member or one part of the day.
  3. Notice what becomes easier or clearer.
  4. Adjust one thing before adding more.

Why this helps

Clear roles help responsibility move beyond one parent’s memory.

Steps to invite another adult

  1. Open S’moresUp.
  2. Tap your profile picture or menu icon.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Open Family Settings.
  5. Find the Adult Profiles section.
  6. Tap Invite Adult.
  7. Enter the adult’s email address or requested contact details.
  8. Send the invitation.
  9. Ask the adult to accept the invite and join your family.

Once they join, they can help manage the family based on the permissions and access available in your setup.

Who should be invited as an adult?

You may want to invite:

  • A spouse or partner
  • A co-parent
  • A grandparent
  • A nanny or caregiver
  • Another trusted adult who helps with family routines

Only invite adults you trust to help manage your family system.

Why adding another adult helps

Many families struggle because one parent becomes the person who remembers, reminds, checks, and follows up.

When another adult is added to S’moresUp, they can help with:

  • Approving completed tasks
  • Updating tasks
  • Encouraging kids
  • Reviewing progress
  • Managing rewards
  • Sharing reminders
  • Keeping routines consistent

This makes the system feel more shared.

Good to know

  • Make sure the adult uses the correct email address when accepting the invitation.
  • If the invite is not received, check spam or resend the invitation.
  • You can review or edit adult profiles from Family Settings.
  • Adults should agree on how rewards, points, and approvals will be handled.
  • Start with simple shared responsibilities before dividing everything.

Family Example

After inviting another adult, choose one thing they will manage first. For example, they can approve evening tasks, handle weekend rewards, or check the Weekly Progress screen on Sundays.

Good to Know

  • Start with the smallest version that solves the problem.
  • Change one setting at a time so you can see what helped.
  • Missed days are information, not proof that your family failed.
  • Open Help in the IAFT app and send a message if something does not work as expected.

Best First Action
